This year, we have "adopted" a serviceman for the Christmas holiday! Residents and staff of both of our facilities put together a Christmas package for Staff Sargent Kory Weaver, who is currently serving in Iraq with the USA Air Force. He is currently doing his 3rd tour in Iraq. We sent cards and other Christmas goodies his way. Merry Christmas, Kory! and thanks for your commitment!
We will be upgrading our network to offer free Wireless Internet service to the residents of our facilities. This includes any visitor who wishes to use an Internet-ready device during their visit. We expect the upgrade to be completed before Christmas. When available, you will need a password to access services. Simply request your password from Ann lucille Kollasch, Community Liaison.
The Activities Department of Dallastown Nursing Center and Victorian Villa Assisted Living has posted a call for adult volunteers. If you are able to donate a few hours a week, please contact our Activity Director, Wendy Bowers, at 717-244-2295. Thank you!

The Victorian Villa is proud to display works of art and handicraft created by our employees and residents, and their families. During Art Appreciation week, the common areas will be used to display submitted items. Be sure to visit all three floors!
We are pleased to have enlisted the services of Dr. Craig Ellis to serve our residents' podiatry needs. Dr. Ellis has been in dedicated service for over 27 years and is a licensed member of the Diplomate American Board Podiatric Orthopedics & Primary Podiatric Medicine. Welcome, Dr. Ellis!
We are pleased to be participating in a variety of area Health Fairs as a member of the Senior Outreach Services Coalition. Most recently we participated in the Health Fair at the West Manchester Mall in York and got to share information with professionals and community members alike. Next stop - the Shrewsbury YMCA on Sept. 24th from 9:30-11:30am. Stop by and say "Hello!"

As part of our continuing mission to provide the highest quality of care for our residents while continually exploring new and better ways to serve the community, we can provide education and a forum for discussion on elder-care issues faced by senior adults and their loved ones.
Residents of the Dallastown Nursing Center and Victorian Villa are now eligible to have their very own email address - free of charge! All email addresses will be through the website's domain name (i.e. joe@dallastownnursingcenter.com). The email system is very user-friendly! Any resident interested in having an email account should speak to Ann lucille Kollasch, Community Liaison or any Activity staff member.
The Resident Rights policy has been added to our Documents Library.
A new feature has been added to our web site! Now, all visitors can visit the Documents Library to quickly view and print documents and forms. You can access the Library through our "Home" link on the menu. When on the "Home" page, scroll down to the last paragraph, and click on the link for the "Documents Library".
The Computer is up and running, and ready for use. Villa residents are welcome to access the Internet, play games, or send/recieve email. Activity staff are available to assist, if needed. The computer is located in the 1st floor sitting area, near the puzzles.
Today, a large group of us went to Senior Day at the Sovereign Stadium. It's been a long time since any of our residents were able to attend a baseball game in person! Although, the weather could have been a little brighter (and a little warmer) - it was terrific fun! And York won!

We're looking forward to visiting with everyone at the 2009 Prime of Life Festival on Thursday May 28th at the York Expo Center! The seminars look great, and I'm hoping to scope out some new talent to share with our Activities Department!
We were thrilled to be part of York Area Agency on Aging's First Long Term Living Forum at the York Expo Center on May 12th. We met lots of new friends and were able to share with others about the services we offer at our facilities. The seminars were highly informative! We're looking forward to the next one!
